Helsinki’s Zippy Park is an adventure park and a must-visit for families with children who love outdoor fun, adventure, and active play. If you’re looking for a place where your kids can climb, jump, zip, and explore in a safe, exciting environment, Zippy Park is the perfect spot!
In this post, I’ll take you through the highlights of the KIDS SECTION—ideal for children under 120 cm and about 10 years old—and share my personal experience as a mom of two adventurous little ones -7 & 5 years old.
Safety First: Ensuring Your Child’s Adventure is Both Fun and Secure
At Zippy Park, safety is a top priority, so you can feel confident that your little adventurers are in good hands. All children participating in the adventure tracks are securely fastened with a rope and harness. Helmets and gloves are mandatory, and you can purchase gloves at the reception if needed. Before your child goes on any of the tracks, the attentive staff checks every single child, every single time, to make sure the harness is correctly fastened and that they’re ready to go. It’s a comforting extra step for parents who want their kids to have a blast while staying safe.
For attractions like the Zippy Airbag, Pomppulinna (inflatable castles), and Zippynet (Verkkoseikkailu), kids will need to temporarily remove their harnesses before diving into the fun. You’ll also want to remind your child to remove their harness before heading to the toilet when nature calls and when they need to eat—an important tip from a mom who’s been there!

The Kids Section: Perfect for Young Adventurers Under 120 cm
The Kids Section at Zippy Park is designed for children under 120 cm tall, typically around 10 years old or younger. Of course, every child is different, and their enjoyment will depend on how agile and brave they are. My own kids, aged 7 and 5, absolutely love it! In fact, my youngest is already gearing up to try the older kids/adult section next year.
For younger children, particularly those under 100 cm tall, the park recommends that they be at least 2 years old and have good walking skills. From my experience, it’s great for kids who are active and love climbing or balancing on various structures. There are 5 different tracks, each varying in difficulty, designed to challenge your little one’s coordination and agility. The tracks include exciting elements like nets and zip lines, making it a thrilling experience for children of all skill levels.
As a shorter mom, I can easily reach and help my kids, though, honestly, they’ve gotten so confident that they hardly need my help anymore!
Building Trust and Confidence Through Play
These tracks offer kids a chance to explore new challenges while parents provide the trust and support they need to grow. It’s a perfect way for moms to encourage bravery and independence, especially for younger children, while being there to cheer them on.
Zippynet (Verkkoseikkailu): A Hit with the Kids!
One of the key attractions in the Kids Section is the ZIPPYNET, known in Finnish as Verkkoseikkailu. This section consists of three different areas and has a limit of five kids at a time, which keeps things manageable and safe, especially since it’s essentially a hanging net! Here’s a closer look at the areas (these are my own names for them):
BIG BALLS AND SLIDE: Kids love this part! They bump into each other using large soft balls (like yoga balls) and then slide down to the ground area. My kids can’t get enough of it!
THE WORM SECTION: A huge worm-like structure where kids can jump, throw hanging balls, or just lounge around. It’s fun to watch them get creative and have fun!
BALL POOL: Every child’s dream! This area is ‘filled’ with balls- not so many balls as in other parks but still my kids dive right in, playing for ages. It’s a top favorite for many children.
IMPORTANT NOTE: While Zippynet is tons of fun, you might want to keep an eye on younger ones if there are older or more energetic children around. It’s a good idea to stay nearby, even if your kids are a bit older. Some parents (myself included) step in to ask older kids to let the little ones have a turn.

Extras: Bungee Trampoline, Inflatable Fun, and a Grill Open for Everyone at the Park
In addition to the adventure tracks and Zippynet, Zippy Park offers a few extra attractions that are sure to delight your kids.
- Bungee Trampoline: One of the highlights in the kids’ area is the Bungee Trampoline, though it’s not included in the general ticket. Prices are €7 for 5 minutes and €10 for 10 minutes. This is something my kids have not ask so far!
- Inflatable Castles (Pomppulinna): There are three small inflatable castles, a big hit with my kids when are not so small kids and ideal for smaller kids to also have fun! They’re located next to the grilling area and next to the outdoor toilet, so it’s a perfect spot for a break or snack time.
- Zippy Airbag – Free Jump: This section features a trampoline, a jumping platform with three different height options, and a slide where kids can go down using an inflatable donut. For safety reasons, when the jumping section is open, the slide is closed, and vice versa. It’s a fun challenge for braver kids looking for excitement! I’ve tried the slide myself to encourage my kids to give it a go—only my youngest followed, and I must confess, he doesn’t always feel like doing it every time we visit the park.
- Grill Area: Zippy Park also offers a free grill open to everyone at the park! They provide the wood for the fire, ketchup, mustard, and grilling sticks, so no need to bring your own. You’re welcome to bring your own food, but if you run out or decide to stay longer, Zippy Park has you covered! You can buy sausages and corn to grill at the reception. Plus, there are some stores nearby, within walking distance, if you need extra snacks or supplies.
- Party Bookings: You can also organize birthday parties at Zippy Park! They will reserve tables for you and your guests, making it an easy and fun way to celebrate your child’s special day.

A Few Tips from a Mom:
Gloves: For safety reasons, gloves are required. You can buy them at the reception if you don’t bring your own.
Supervise younger children: Older kids can sometimes get too energetic, so it’s a good idea to stay close and keep an eye on your little ones.
Pack snacks and water: There’s a lot to do, and your kids will need energy. You can buy snacks at the reception, or visit a nearby store if you run out.
Outdoor toilets: Zippy Park’s toilets are typical Finnish-style outdoor facilities—no running water, but there’s toilet paper, disinfectant gel, and wet wipes.

Extra Note: What Age Do I Recommend?
If you’re wondering what age is best for Zippy Park, I can share from personal experience! The first time we visited, my youngest was just 3 years old. He’s the fearless, adventurous type who loves climbing, and he had an absolute blast! While the park recommends a minimum age of 2 for children under 100 cm, I’ve found that if your child has that daring spirit and loves active play, they’ll have a fantastic time exploring all the park has to offer, no matter their age. Just be sure to keep an eye on the more energetic older kids when your little one is around!
