This is why Pakistani hospitality beats the miss information we have about this country
Everything you’ve heard about Pakistan might be a lie! Recently, I embarked on a 12-day journey to Pakistan (May 2024), and as a Mexican living in Finland for over a decade, I’ve realized how much the media, Pakistan news, and miss information can influence our perceptions. On my first day in Lahore, I experienced the warmth and hospitality of the people firsthand. At the hotel, everyone was incredibly friendly. Locals would approach me, asking about my stay, and one even offered to take me to try local food, an offer I cautiously accepted.- I ended up having the best fried chicken of my trip! At the market, people would offer drinks, tea, sodas, and even ice cream.

Later, when I traveled to Gilgit Baltistan, the mountains views and crystal-clear waters of the lakes and rivers were simply breathtaking. The turquoise color of the water is in another lever! Moreover, Pakistani people were extremely kind, curious, and respectful. It was a stark contrast to the negative portrayals I had encountered before.

People traveling to Mexico often fall in love with Mexicans, saying we are very friendly. However, no one talks about the heartwarming hospitality in Pakistan.
WALKING ON THE CROWDED STREETS AND MARKETS FELT SAFE
Walking among the crowds in the Delhi Gate Market streets, I FELT SAFE! Nobody tried to steal anything from me. I didn’t have to hide my phone, professional camera, or be wary of pickpockets. I didn’t hear unpleasant compliments or receive intimidating glances from men. Instead, I was fortunate enough to step on a naan stand and try making it!

How unfair have we been with Pakistani people all this time? I’d say when people tell you Pakistan is a ‘dangerous’ place to visit, you should belive that Pakistan is dangerously BEAUTIFUL, dangerous FRIENDLY, the people are dangerous WELCOMING and their hopitality will steal your heart! Now that you know the danger of traveling to Pakistan, you should hurry before it gets too crowded.
